PRESS RELEASE: RIMOUSKI-NEIGETTE-TÉMISCOUATA-LES BASQUES AT THE TOP OF FEDERAL INVESTMENTS IN EASTERN QUEBEC

Infrastructure Canada and Canada Economic Development (CED) investments in the riding of Rimouski-Neigette-Témiscouata-Les Basques have reached nearly $48 million since the 2015 federal election, in addition to the $389 million approved in 2016 for Phase 3 of Highway 85, which will link Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha! with Saint-Antonin.

Guy Caron, Member of Parliament for Rimouski-Neigette-Témiscouata-Les Basques, is pleased that the riding is getting its share of the amounts invested in the region by the federal government.

" This testifies to the expertise of Canada Economic Development's regional office, its Executive Director Pierre Roberge and the entire team. The companies, communities and organizations that deal with this office have nothing but praise for their work and for the excellent collaboration with Investissement Québec's teams. And this benefits the entire region," explains Mr. Caron.

"It should also dispel the myth that the political colour of a riding's MP influences the level of investment it receives," added the NDP MP.

From October 2015 to December 2018, the communities of Rimouski-Neigette-Témiscouata-Les Basques received $28,250,148 from Infrastructure Canada, the highest total of the region, and $19,548,082 from Canada Economic Development, in the form of repayable and non-repayable contributions.
