To help us assess the impacts of US-Mexico-Canada trade deal, please answer this quick survey:

For three days in a row, Guy has been standing up at the House of Commons to speak out about one of the most significant concerns in our region. He denounces the concessions that liberals are making on supply management and is asking for Trudeau to protect our farmers by FULLY keeping the supply management system.

As usual, Prime Minister Trudeau is refusing to answer the questions. He avoids giving a clear answer on the subject matter. Supply management is being used as a bargaining chip during the renegotiation with Trump. The liberal government is saying “necessary concessions” are needed in updating NAFTA but the same argument is made with each new trade agreement. Slowly but surely, these concessions are threatening the efficiency of the system and, eventually, its very existence.

Local farmers and their families should not be sacrificed during this renegotiation. The MP for Rimouski-Neigette—Témiscouata—Les Basques is going to follow closely the evolution of this file to make sure that our farmers and their families are protected.

Guy Caron and his neo-democrat colleagues are going to continue to put pressure on the government to defend our local agriculture and supply management in its entirety.
